La Pedrera de Barcelona by Gaudí

A walk towards Paseo de Gracia takes you to the heart of the Eixample, an urban layout designed by Ildefonso Cerdá characterized by a grid of streets where the corners are cut diagonally. It is there where we find the La Pedrera an unconventional building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí.

The sinuous curves of its facade could recall the waves of the sea, however it was this imposing stone facade worked in an unusual way that earned it the nickname of La Pedrera, which means quarry in Catalan.
